Laura Stubbs (she/her) is a queer, Canadian writer/producer and the founder/president of Ticket Stubbs Productions. She graduated from Queen's University, where her research on eating disorders was published in the Canadian Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy. She studied screenwriting at UCLA, with a focus in comedy. She wrote, directed and produced a short film, no, which premiered at the 2022 Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival. Right Under My Roof, a digital series she wrote, produced and directed is now available on Bell Fibe TV1. Laura uses her academic background in psychology to create complex characters by critically examining human behaviour and relationships. By writing through a comedic lens, she makes difficult topics like eating disorders more digestible to an audience.
